Garlic
Although garlic may not always bring good luck, protect against evil or ward off vampires, it is guaranteed to transform any meal into a bold, aromatic and healthy culinary experience.
Fresh, dried and powdered garlic are available in markets throughout the year, however, fresh varieties from California are in season from June through December.
Garlic is arranged in a head, called the bulb, averaging about 2 inches in height and diameter consisting of numerous small separate cloves. Both the cloves and the entire bulb are encased in paper-like sheathes that can be white, off-white or pinkish. Although garlic cloves have a firm texture, they can be easily cut or crushed. The taste of garlic is like no other-it hits the palate with a hot pungency that is shadowed by a very subtle background sweetness. While elephant garlic has larger cloves, it is more closely related to the leek and therefore does not offer the full health benefits of regular garlic.

Hemp Oil
Hemp seed and oil has been called Nature’s Perfect Food for Humanity - a wealth of health for everyone.
The oil can be used as part of a nutritional programme to maintain and improve good health. With a pleasant nutty flavour, Hemp Seed Oil is ideal for use in salad dressings, mayonnaise, dips etc. It is not suitable for frying as this reduces the benefits.
Hemp has had a long-standing relationship with humanity; modern science reveals that it contains all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary for human life, as well as a rare protein known as globule edestins that is very similar to the globulin found in human blood plasma.
Four years after the Marijuana Tax Act passed in the US, a researcher writing for a 1941 edition of Science lamented the loss of access to the hemp seeds rare and important globule edistins; Passage of the Marijuana Law of 1937 has placed restrictions upon trade in hempseed that, in effect, amount to prohibition....”

Player Etiquette
There are some lessons men can learn that will instantly improve their chances; here are a few techniques on Player etiquette that will show her you’re a class act.
Bad habits
Chewing your nails, picking your teeth, picking your nose, smoking -- it happens all the time, and I’ve seen more guys do it involuntarily than a Player should. Displaying your bad habits when you’re picking up a woman is going to instantly kill your game; your little nuances are as glaring as the skin flakes on your shirt. Really, is that appropriate? I think not.
A Player has to be prudent about the little things he does. While on the surface it may seem harmless and subtle, to her it’s an obtrusive turnoff that’s going to net you a handshake good-bye rather than the desired fervent lip-lock. Be mindful of what your intuition wants you to do, and think about the consequences if you fall back into your bad habits. Then, think about what kind of benefits you’ll get from her if you suppress your otherwise ...
Cassandra's Dream
As a reviewer it’s important to always maintain a sense of proportion when considering the work of someone you once admired but now are bored by.
Still, it’s difficult to escape the fact that this is a Woody Allen film, and impossible – at least in my case – not to feel depressed that it’s come to this.
The director’s 38th film in a 42-year career, Cassandra’s Dream is about as interesting as an omnibus edition of EastEnders, which is, unexpectedly, what it most resembles. But then Allen hasn’t made a really good movie since Sweet And Lowdown, in 1999, and the last great one was ten years before that, with Crimes And Misdemeanours. The move to London, which has produced three films – Match Point 2005, Scoop 2006, and this one – has to be judged a failure.
Cassandra’s Dream has two cor-blimey brothers – dreamy ladies man Ian and fragile mechanic Terry – embroiled in an unlikely contract killing. Allen, in his wisdom, has cast a Scot Ewan McGregor and an Irishman Colin Farrell. Both ...
Tropic Thunder
If this film delivers, Tropic Thunder will join the esteemed ranks of The Naked Gun and Hot Shots as an action comedy with the innovation to match the visual absurdities. A stellar cast you count them play a group of ego-heavy actors filming a Vietnam movie. When their exasperated director Coogan, no less sees the film falling apart, he choppers them into an actual warzone and lets the tape roll. Ben Stiller directs, and Robert Downey Jr. plays an Australian actor who undergoes skin pigmentation therapy to be cast as a black man. ...
Papaya
Deliciously sweet with musky undertones and a soft, butter-like consistency, it is no wonder the papaya was reputably called the fruit of the angels by Christopher Columbus. Once considered quite exotic, they can now be found in markets throughout the year. Although there is a slight seasonal peak in early summer and fall, papaya trees produce fruit year round.
Papayas are spherical or pear-shaped fruits that can be as long as 20 inches. The ones commonly found in the market usually average about 7 inches and weigh about one pound. Their flesh is a rich orange color with either yellow or pink hues. Inside the inner cavity of the fruit are black, round seeds encased in a gelatinous-like substance. Papayas seeds are edible, although their peppery flavor is somewhat bitter. The fruit, as well as the other parts of the papaya tree, contain papain, an enzyme that helps digest proteins. This enzyme is especially concentrated in the fruit when it is unripe. Papain is extracted to make ...
Cranberries
A cousin of the blueberry, this very tart, bright red berry can still be found growing wild as a shrub, but when cultivated, is grown on low trailing vines in great sandy bogs. The American cranberry, the variety most cultivated in the northern United States and southern Canada, produces a larger berry than the wild cranberry or the European variety.
Cranberries have long been valued for their ability to help prevent and treat urinary tract infections. Now, recent studies suggest that this native American berry may also promote gastrointestinal and oral health, prevent the formation of kidney stones, lower LDL and raise HDL good cholesterol, aid in recovery from stroke, and even help prevent cancer.
Fresh cranberries, which contain the highest levels of beneficial nutrients, are at their peak from October through December, just in time to add their festive hue, tart tangy flavor and numerous health protective effects to your holiday meals. When cranberries short fresh season is ...
Flashbacks Of A Fool
In an scene sure to delight blue-swimsuit lovers everywhere, Flashbacks Of A Fool opens with a flash of Daniel Craig’s naked form as he romps with not one but two nubile ladies, incongruously set to a soundtrack of Scott Walker’s “Jacques Brel”. But pleasures of the flesh aside, all is not well with Joe Scott Craig , a coke-snorting, wayward Hollywood actor whose age and behaviour makes him increasingly less hireable. After a heated meeting with his agent, Joe cools off in the Pacific Ocean. Cue the titular reminiscences, as the teenage Joe Harry Eden indulges in his own Seventies summer of love and eventual tragedy on the English coast, set to a toe-tapping soundtrack of Bowie and Roxy Music.
Penned by writer/director Baillie Walsh for his friend Craig several years BB Before Bond, there’s a delicious irony in watching the latter send up the leading man reputation he now enjoys. Flashbacks has its flashes of brilliance, not least the scene in which the young Joe and his first love ...
Fine Living: Premium Chocolates
The world of chocolate has its highs and lows, to be sure. And the solid milk-chocolate bunnies we all enjoyed as kids are fine for 7-year-olds, but your palate has evolved beyond swapping quality for quantity. While Ferrero Rocher and Godiva are fine for some, the true chocolate connoisseur knows that the best there is to offer cannot be found in any drugstore.
Thankfully, gourmet chocolate is more abundant -- and more available -- in today’s market than ever before. After all, if Americans spend about $13 billion a year on chocolate, why shouldn’t we spend it on the good stuff?
La Maison du Chocolat
Country of origin: France
Price: Truffles are around $80 per pound and boxes are as much as $200.
As one of France’s finest manufacturers, there may be no other store that makes chocolate as luxurious as La Maison du Chocolat. The name says it all; it translates to The House of Chocolate.
La Maison packages its chocolates in leather boxes that are fine enough for the best jewelry. ...
Strawberries
The fragrantly sweet juiciness and deep red color of strawberries can brighten up both the taste and aesthetics of any meal; it is no wonder they are the most popular berry fruit in the world. Although strawberries have become increasingly available year-round, they are at the peak of their season from April through July when they are the most delicious and most abundant.
While there are more than 600 varieties of strawberries that differ in flavor, size and texture, one can usually identify a strawberry by its red flesh that has yellow seeds piercing its surface, and the small, regal, green leafy cap and stem that adorn its crown. In addition to strawberries that are cultivated, there are also varieties that grow wild. These are much smaller in size, but feature a more intense flavor.

How to Have a 1-Night Stand
Heres what I remember about the best one-night stand of my life: everything but his name. He was a bartender-slash-actor who rode a beat-up motorcycle, but I didn find that out until after his jeans came off. It started in a bar. He sat down next to my girlfriend and me -- we were having a giggly girls night out -- stared in the other direction, and didn say a word.
After 10 minutes, he asked if I would watch his stuff while he went outside to make a call. When he came back, he grimaced like De Niro and thanked me very politely. By that point, I was already curious about whom he had called, what was in his faded leather bag, and why he wouldn smile. So I asked if he was having a bad day. Within a couple of hours, we were naked in bed together. And then he was gone.
To this day, I have to admire how smooth he was, because great one-night stands are tough to pull off. Plenty can go wrong between the first long look and the next-day e-mail. This is what you need to know to do ...
Brown rice
In some parts of the world, the word to eat literally means to eat rice. All varieties of rice are available throughout the year, supplying as much as half of the daily calories for half of the worlds population.
The process that produces brown rice removes only the outermost layer, the hull, of the rice kernel and is the least damaging to its nutritional value. The complete milling and polishing that converts brown rice into white rice destroys 67% of the vitamin B3, 80% of the vitamin B1, 90% of the vitamin B6, half of the manganese, half of the phosphorus, 60% of the iron, and all of the dietary fiber and essential fatty acids. Fully milled and polished white rice is required to be enriched with vitamins B1, B3 and iron.

Cabbage
Sturdy, abundant and inexpensive, cabbage is a longstanding dietary staple throughout the world and is so widely cultivated and stores so well that it is available throughout the year. However, it is at its best during the late fall and winter months when it is in season.
Cabbage is round in shape with layers of superimposed leaves with the inner leaves often lighter in color than the outer leaves because they are protected from the sunlight. They belong to the Cruciferae family of vegetables along with kale, broccoli, collards and Brussels sprouts.

Apples
The warm scent and flavor of baking apples is a sure sign that fall is just around the corner. In the Northern Hemisphere apples are in season from late summer to early winter. However, many varieties are available year round because they have been either kept in cold storage or imported from the Southern Hemisphere.
Apples are crisp, white-fleshed fruits with red, yellow or green skin. They range in taste from moderately sweet and refreshing to pleasantly tart depending on the variety. The apple is a member of the rose family, with a compartmentalized core that classifies it as a pome fruit.

College Sex Pointers for Better Sex
Read on for five college sex rules to better sex...
College Sex Rule 1: Claim a new campus
Consider the cafés, library nooks, and grassy quads where the average American college student spends most of the day. These public spaces foster a sexual vibe by design.
The most successful designs provide cozy spaces where small groups of students with common interests can interact, says Fred Dust, a senior partner at the design firm Ideo who works on university, commercial, and urban design projects. Both the physical comfort of a space and the sense of belonging put you at ease. So student lounges, flower-filled quads, coed dorms -- these settings are all designed to encourage intimacy and exclusivity.
Okay, so you
e not going to sidle up to a hot sophomore in the coffee shop now. But seek out places with long tables or low, comfortable couches, suggests Laura Gimpel, the facilities manager at Googles New York offices, which were outfitted purposely to mimic the college environment ...
Lemon/Limes
Although lemons and limes may not be what you would choose for an afternoon snack, we consider them as powerhouses when we want to bring out the flavor of other foods. While both are available throughout the year, lemons are in the peak of their season around May, June and August while limes are at their peak from May through October.
Lemons are oval in shape and feature a yellow, texturized outer peel. Like other citrus fruits, their inner flesh is encased in eight to ten segments.
Usually smaller than lemons, limes are oval or round in shape having a diameter of one to two inches with green flesh and skin. They can be either sour or sweet depending on the variety; however, sweet limes are not readily available in the United States. Sour limes contain citric acid giving them an acidic and tart taste, while sweet limes while lack citric acid and are sweeter in flavor.
