UNIQLO UT PROJECT
No risk of looking the same with over 700 unique T-shirts to choose from
The UNIQLO UT project is a boon to anyone who loves cut-price High Street clothing but hates it when they see someone else wearing the same thing. Having previously collaborated with the likes of Kim Jones, this summers UT project will feature a collection of over 700 unique T-shirts, which includes designs by Eighties artists Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Haring died of AIDS-related complications at 31, but not before working with everyone from Madonna to Andy Warhol, while Basquiats work continues to influence modern artists. Japanese export UNIQLO will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of two pioneering Manga magazines with a selection of Ts. Meanwhile, the High Street chain trawled MySpace to find candidates for a ten-day transatlantic shoot to produce 200 portraits of future visionaries from London and New York.
